The SAA called the meeting to order at 7.30 p.m. sharp. He then led members in the recitation of the Toastmaster’s Promise.

The President, Ranjit, then made his welcome speech and had members introduce themselves as well as the person sitting on their right by informing those present an interesting thing about the person. This form of introduction gave those present to get to know a little more about each other. We had four guests joining us for the meeting. Our guests included three persons who were new to Toastmasters.

With the general elections round the corner, Shanmugam gave a very encouraging Invocation on making wise choices through the ballot.

The topics chosen by the Table Topics Master, Muhendaran, also had the theme of election such as the need for a strong opposition, the need for check and balances, etc. Volunteers for this session had a challenging time speaking on the chosen topics. Sham Sunder then gave a evaluation to the speakers.

We had 2 speeches. 1) Prem gave his 2nd speech from the C&L manual, titled "Why do I Love Toastmasters". His speech, spiced with jokes, kept those present attentive and laughing.`

2) Rema, delivered her speech number 5 from the Interpretive Reading Advance Manual, titled "My Fast as a Protest". Rema delivered a speech given by Mahatma Gandhi. The picture of the Indian flag and of Mahatma Gandhi helped set the environment for the speech.

The evaluation session was conducted effectively by Ranjit and Lucky respectively.

Mike Teng, as the GE, complimented the club for an enjoyable meeting and at the same time gave some useful feedback on how we can conduct even better meetings. His feedback was greatly appreciated.

At the end of the meeting the guests Edina, Sai and Mohan expressed their enjoyment and their intention to be members of the club.

Let’s continue to have enjoyable and fun meetings.
