Be Thankful...

Be Thankful...

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings...

Congratulations!

It was certainly another ‘enjoyable’ meeting as we were ‘entertained’ with laughs and speeches. As usual, the SAA, Muhendaran, led the members to recite the Toastmasters’ Promise in order to make us continuously be aware of our responsibilities. The President, Ranjit, never fails to give an enthusiastic opening address.

The TME, Ivan Fong, started the excitement by inviting Table Topics Master, Maureen, to take over. She had a handful of ‘enjoyable’ topics.

First taker, Ranjit, spoke about his most enjoyable Fathers Day. His contention is that we should show gratitude to our fathers on any day, not just Fathers day. Agreed!

The second speaker, Wan, talked about his most enjoyable Birthday. However, birthdays are not special to him and he treats them as any other day. Same like me!

Third speaker, Muhendaran had to talk about his most enjoyable Holiday. Gis idea of the best holiday is a day when he can just eat, sleep and watch TV freely. Not my dream!

Fourth speaker, Lakhmichand spoke about his most enjoyable Mothers Day. For him, the most memorable Mothers day was when he left India and his mother for Malaya at the age of 10. How touching!

Fifth speaker, Mary was given the topic of her most enjoyable Valentines Day. To her, real Valentines only exist as fantasies in movies. Really?

Final speaker, Mohamed dealt with the topic of his most enjoyable Anniversary. That made him reminisces on his university graduation day. An emotional one, indeed!

Our seasoned evaluator, Mary gave a very constructive and interesting evaluation of all the table topics speakers. She, herself received a very amusing ‘down-to-earth’ evaluation from Muhendaran.

Best Table Topics speaker went to Lakhmichand.

After the break, we were entertained by 3 assignment speeches. First speaker, Michelle talked about ‘Friends’. She related a very interesting story that really illustrated the meaning of ‘True friendship’. Evaluator was Mary.

Second speaker was Sham Sunder who delivered the ‘Real Funnies’ of Malaysian society. It was definitely an entertaining and amusing satire. Evaluator was Ranjit.

Finally, Rema Paul gave us “Girls – from 7 to 78”. In other words, from Girls to Women! What a no-holds-barred revelation on the fairer sex! Certainly entertaining! Evaluator was Muhendaran.

Best speaker was Rema Paul and Best evaluator Muhendaran.

First Timer GE, Loke Kah Sing showed flair in delivering his general evaluation of the whole meeting. Great job!

All in all, another great meeting. We definitely had good fun and entertainment. That’s what learning in moments of enjoyment is all about!

See you at the next meeting. Kudos to all!
